Chapter 19: Ghost-Type

The bus smoothly continued its journey, and at the same time, the sun was setting, gradually fading the golden hues that adorned the surfaces of the towering buildings.

"We have reached Jiyang Station. Passengers getting off, please take your belongings and exit from the rear door," the electronic station announcement suddenly sounded.

At this stop, the number of passengers on the bus increased suddenly. Not only were all the seats occupied, but there were also 5 or 6 people standing.

After the bus resumed its journey for about 3 minutes, the Fire Tooth Dog suddenly turned its head without warning and let out a cry towards a nearby passenger.

Seated next to Qiao Sang was a female student wearing the uniform of the 37th Beast Tamer High School, who had boarded the bus at the same station as Qiao Sang.

The female student glanced at the Fire Tooth Dog but didn't say anything. She simply moved aside slightly.

Qiao Sang turned the Fire Tooth Dog around and asked, "What's wrong with you?"

The Fire Tooth Dog glanced at the female student and then tilted its head, looking somewhat puzzled.

"Is it okay to scare others like this?" Qiao Sang said while patting the Fire Tooth Dog's head.

"Tooth."

The Fire Tooth Dog responded briskly and turned to the window to enjoy the scenery outside.

Seeing this, the female student smiled friendlily at Qiao Sang and said, "I'm fine."

Qiao Sang glanced at the increased distance of more than 10 centimeters between them compared to before and was about to say something when the Fire Tooth Dog turned back to the female student, baring its sharp teeth and appearing fierce.

The female student was startled and instinctively tried to get up.

"Can you please put away this Fire Tooth Dog? If it scares someone, will you take responsibility?" a displeased male voice spoke up.

The speaker was standing next to the female student.

Qiao Sang looked over and saw a man with a square face wearing a gray vest.

"Yeah, this Fire Tooth Dog clearly hasn't been properly trained," an auntie sitting nearby chimed in.

"The entire bus is here; you should put it away quickly," another voice chimed in.

Hearing everyone's comments, the female student also looked at Qiao Sang with pleading eyes, hoping she would put the Fire Tooth Dog away.

Qiao Sang frowned but ignored them. Although she hadn't been in an agreement with the Fire Tooth Dog for long, she knew what kind of child he was in her heart—a well-behaved one. Besides, the Fire Tooth Dog had ridden the bus many times before, and this situation had never occurred.

"What's wrong with you?" Qiao Sang turned the Fire Tooth Dog to face herself and asked.

"tooth."

The Fire Tooth Dog turned its head haughtily and chose not to look at Qiao Sang.

It heard the comments from the people around and thought that its Beast Tamer was also going to scold it.

"Fire Tooth Dog," Qiao Sang turned its head, firmly holding it with both hands to make it look at her.

The Fire Tooth Dog's watery eyes showed a mixture of stubbornness and grievance.

Qiao Sang stared into its eyes and said seriously, word by word, "I believe in you, and you should believe in me too. If there's something wrong, you can tell me. You know I understand what you mean."

The Fire Tooth Dog, upon hearing its Beast Tamer's words, suddenly became excited.

"tooth, tooth, tooth!"

"tooth, tooth."

"tooth, tooth, tooth, tooth!"

While speaking, the Fire Tooth Dog gestured with its small paws.

Qiao Sang confirmed with it, "Are you saying that something suddenly appeared on her and then disappeared?"

"tooth!"

The Fire Tooth Dog nodded vigorously.

"Did that thing that appeared suddenly scare you?" Qiao Sang stroked its head.

"tooth." The Fire Tooth Dog buried its head in Qiao Sang's body and let out a pitiful cry.

The female student sitting next to them watched their interaction in a daze, feeling surprised.

So, this is the Fire Tooth Dog's personality...

It's actually quite cute...

Maybe I should try contracting with a Fire-type Beast for my second contract position...

"It's okay, it's okay," Qiao Sang reassured, then turned to the female student and said, "You heard what just happened."

The female student snapped out of her thoughts and said uncertainly, "Are you saying that something suddenly appeared on me?"

Qiao Sang nodded.

"But..." before the female student could finish her sentence, a voice interrupted her directly.

"Are you listening to her nonsense? She just doesn't want to take back the Fire Tooth Dog and is making excuses. I warn you, you'd better put away the Fire Tooth Dog right now, or someone will get hurt, and I'll deal with you!" The man with a square face standing next to the female student said angrily.

"Yeah, put it away quickly. It will be too late if someone gets hurt," the auntie sitting nearby added.

"Put it away. No one feels at ease with it here," someone else chimed in.

"I think this girl doesn't look like she's lying. Could it be some wild supernatural creature from the Ghost-type on this bus?" A different voice suddenly spoke up.

The noisy voices on the bus instantly fell silent.

When it comes to supernatural creatures, the Ghost-type is the most mysterious. Any supernatural event involving ghosts becomes plausible when it involves a Ghost-type creature.

Things like objects mysteriously disappearing or a sudden power outage and temperature drop in a room are minor occurrences.

Ghost-type creatures are elusive and have peculiar temperaments.

For example, the Possessing Ghost.

It likes to possess different people, and the person being possessed is conscious but unable to control their own body, only able to watch as their body does all sorts of bizarre things.

Jumping, dancing, diving, and more; encountering a Possessing Ghost that enjoys streaking is truly a stroke of bad luck.

Among those who love and hate the Possessing Ghost, the police department stands out the most.

The Possessing Ghost not only possesses living people but also enjoys possessing corpses. Two years ago, inexplicable corpses appeared frequently in front of the city's police department.

After an examination, it was revealed that some of these corpses had been dead for a day, a year, or even a decade. Among them was a corpse that had been missing and the subject of widespread discussion three years ago—the school beauty Lu Baiqian.

The police watched the surveillance footage and saw that the Possessing Ghost controlled the corpse and brought it to the police department's entrance.

Initially, they didn't know, but later, when the Possessing Ghost floated out of the corpse, revealing its five-foot short stature, they recognized it.

To say that they loved it was because the Possessing Ghost could inexplicably help the police find the corpses they couldn't locate.

To say that they hated it, corpses that had been dead for one or two days were also brought over by it. Wasn't this pure destruction of the crime scene for murder cases?

Then there's the Spirit-Guiding Lamp, which appears next to lost individuals and guides them in the right direction, but it requires absorbing a certain amount of vital energy from the person's body as compensation.

It might seem like a supernatural creature that understands exchange, but it's not the case at all.

Some time ago in Nankou City, a woman came out of a bar late at night, called a taxi, and waited by the roadside. She might have been swaying as she walked or had a bewildered look in her eyes, possibly due to drinking.

The Spirit-Guiding Lamp determined that she was lost...

Before the taxi even arrived, it forcefully brought her back home and then absorbed her vital energy, leaving the woman to wake up the next day, looking in the mirror, thinking she had been drained by someone.

The various types of Ghost-type supernatural creatures are simply too numerous to count.

Encountering those who just enjoy playing pranks is fine, but if you run into evil wild Ghost-type supernatural creatures, you won't even know how you'll die.

For a moment, everyone on Bus No. 66 was feeling uneasy.
